Biography

Murray Feist is a part time freelance nature and wildlife photographer located in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.? Murray's work and personal life has ultimately resulted in his passion and dedication toward the photography of nature and wildlife of western Canada.

Professionally, I hold a Master of Science Degree in Animal Nutrition from the University of Saskatchewan specializing in the nutrition and biology of of deer, elk and bison in western Canada.? Currently I am employed by the Province of Saskatchewan where I provide nutrition support to ruminant livestock producers and conduct lectures on cervid and bison nutrition at the University of Saskatchewan.

The current photographs taken illustrate my pursuit to capture unique and intriguing images of wildlife in their natural environment and hopefully some provocative and enlightening images from western Canada. I am mostly self taught with no formal training in photography. My main learning was with slide film and my study included books by John Shaw, Art Wolfe, Moose Peterson and Tim Grey. My equipment consists of the Canon digital-SLR system and lenses.
